Worm gruntin festival 2022. Vibrations caused by Garys worm grunting technique recorded with a geophone. The first festival was in the year 2000. This event celebrated annually on the second Saturday in April began in 2000 and has grown in popularity over the years.

The photo is of Gary Revell a professional worm grunter and a previous King of the Festival. 2020 will see the festival return for its 5th year with a lineup that will delight both little and big kids alike. Drive a wooded stake called a Stob into the ground rub the stake with a roopin iron to make it vibrate and nearby earthworms are agitaged and come to the surface. Please note it must be received on March 27 2020 by 500 pm to be considered. Sopchoppy is home to the Worm Gruntin Festival sponsored by the Sopchoppy Preservation and Improvement Association.
