Annual Sopchoppy Worm Gruntin Festival Visit Wakulla

2022 edition of Sopchoppy Worm Gruntin Festival will be held at Sopchoppy starting on 09th April.

Worm grunting festival 2022. We look forward to our 5K race on April 9 2022 and will sure enjoy seeing all the old and new racers next year. The celebration draws thousands from Wakulla County and the surrounding areas who come to see the famed. It bills itself as the Worm Gruntin Capital of the world.

The resulting vibrations cause worms to surface whereupon they are typically gathered and used or sold for fishing. The actual worm grunting contest is held early in the morning along with a 5K run. Worm charmers hammer wooden stakes into the ground then rub them with metal slabs.

Sopchoppy is home to the Worm Gruntin Festival sponsored by the Sopchoppy Preservation and Improvement Association. Living on Earth is an independent media program and relies entirely on contributions from. At noon the live music begins and continues until late into the evening.
